What does it mean?
B1395 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Firing Circuit Harness Short To Each Other .
Symptoms
- SRS lamp on, usually with several airbag or pretensioner circuit codes stored at the same time
- The whole restraint system is disabled and nothing will deploy in a crash
- The codes cannot be cleared and return instantly
- The fault very often follows recent interior work
- No effect on engine running, which makes it easy to ignore
Likely causes
- Loom crushed where several squib pairs run together, letting different firing circuits touch
- Water inside a multi-way restraint connector bridging several squib pins at once
- Pins bent or pushed back in the airbag control module connector after it was refitted crooked or forced
- Seat, console, carpet or trim refitting that trapped the restraint loom against a bracket or bolt
- Aftermarket wiring routed through the restraint loom and damaging it
- Control module connector lock not fully seated, so the internal shorting bars stay partly engaged
- Internal failure in the airbag control module
How to fix it
- Read every stored restraint code first; a group of squib faults together points at shared wiring or the module plug rather than at individual airbags
- Power the system down safely, disconnect the battery and wait the reserve power discharge time
- Unlatch the control module connector and inspect every terminal for push-back, bent pins, moisture and damage
- Ask what interior work was done last and inspect the loom under and around that area first
- Check the loom for crush points against brackets, seat bolts and console screws
- Repair damaged loom sections with the correct restraint repair parts, not a twisted and taped splice
- Reseat the module connector fully with its lock, clear the codes and confirm the lamp goes out after the bulb check
