What does it mean?

B1745 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Driver Seat Rear Up Switch Circuit Malfunction .

Symptoms

  • Rear of the seat cushion will not lift or moves only in short bursts
  • Seat cushion angle can no longer be set while other directions still work
  • Movement stops on its own even though the switch is still held
  • Memory recall does not complete and the seat sits at the wrong angle
  • Code sets again after clearing, usually when the seat is next adjusted

Likely causes

  • Worn or dirty rear-up contact inside the seat switch pack
  • Moisture or spilled drink inside the switch housing
  • Rear-up signal wire chafed, broken or pinched where the loom passes the seat rail
  • Corroded or loose terminal in the under-seat connector after water ingress
  • Rear height motor with high current draw or a jammed gear, disturbing the circuit
  • Seat or memory module input stage failure

How to fix it

  1. Read the codes and watch the rear-up input live while operating the rocker
  2. Remove the switch pack, inspect the contacts and clean any residue
  3. Fit a known good switch pack if available to separate switch from circuit
  4. Measure continuity and resistance of the rear-up wire from switch to module
  5. Wiggle-test the loom along the rail and under the cushion while watching for dropouts
  6. Check the rear height motor current and confirm the lift mechanism is not binding
  7. Repair the harness or replace switch, motor or seat module as the results indicate
