What does it mean?
U1250 is a Network (CAN bus, module communications) fault code. It indicates: Camera Control Unit .
Symptoms
- Reversing or surround view image missing, frozen, distorted or black
- Driver assistance functions that use the camera switch themselves off
- Warning message about the camera or assistance system on the display
- Scan tool reports a mismatch or cannot read identification data from one module
- The camera will not hold its calibration after a windscreen replacement
- Additional network codes stored in several modules
Likely causes
- Camera control unit without power or ground, or its supply fuse blown
- Loose, wet or corroded connector at the camera behind the windscreen or at the rear of the vehicle
- Damaged data lead between the camera and its control unit, often pinched behind trim
- Camera or control unit replaced without coding, so it reports identification data that does not match the vehicle
- A used module fitted from another vehicle carrying the wrong stored identification
- Break in the bus wiring between the camera control unit and the gateway module
- Internal failure of the camera control unit after water ingress or a heavy impact
How to fix it
- Read every module and compare the vehicle identification data stored in each one
- Check the camera control unit fuse, then measure supply voltage and ground at its connector
- Inspect the camera connector and lead for corrosion, kinks and incomplete latching
- Confirm the camera and its control unit were coded to the vehicle after any replacement
- Look for water leaks around the windscreen, tailgate or number plate lamp area
- Test bus continuity from the camera control unit to the gateway module
- Recalibrate the camera to specification after repair; replace the control unit only if it stays unreachable
