What does it mean?
U1341 is a Network (CAN bus, module communications) fault code. It indicates: Data Circuit Message .
Symptoms
- Speedometer reads zero, jumps around or lags behind the real speed
- Cruise control will not engage or drops out while driving
- ABS, traction control or stability control lamps illuminated
- Automatic transmission shifts harshly or holds one gear
- Electric power steering assist feels wrong at higher speeds
- Odometer and trip computer stop counting
Likely causes
- Faulty vehicle speed or wheel speed sensor feeding the transmitting module
- Damaged wiring or a corroded connector at the speed sensor, at the gearbox output or the wheel hub
- The transmitting module is not broadcasting because of a power, ground or internal fault
- Break in the bus wiring between the transmitting and receiving modules
- Wrong tyre size, incorrect final drive ratio, or a module never configured after replacement
- Metal debris on the tone ring, or a cracked or loose tone ring
- Aftermarket devices tapped into the speed signal wire
How to fix it
- Compare the vehicle speed value reported by each module on the scan tool during a road test
- Inspect the wheel speed sensors and tone rings for debris, rust and cracks
- Check the sensor wiring where the harness flexes at the suspension and the gearbox
- Measure sensor output with a multimeter or oscilloscope while turning the wheel by hand
- Check power, ground and bus connection at the module that should send the message
- Confirm tyre size and module configuration match the vehicle specification
- Repair the wiring first; replace the sensor or configure the module only when the tests point there
