AUTOOL OBD2 Breakout Box
Visualize protocols and pin voltages, eliminate guesswork.
The AUTOOL OBD2 Breakout Box is a professional diagnostic tool that instantly displays active vehicle protocols via illuminated LEDs on the standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) DLC and allows direct multimeter probes to test signal voltage on every line. When your diagnostic scanner fails to establish vehicle communication, pinpoint whether the issue is bus failure, bad wiring, or protocol mismatch in seconds.
- Automatic 5-Protocol Detection
- Pin-by-Pin Voltage Measurement
- Dual Pass-Through Architecture
- Safe Diagnostic Signal Isolation
DIAGNOSTIC PROTOCOL MONITORING
Automatic 5-Protocol LED Recognition
Connect the unit directly to the vehicle's OBD2 socket. The front status LEDs automatically detect and indicate active protocols: PWM (J1850), VPW (J1850), ISO 9141-2, KWP2000 (ISO 14230), and CAN Bus (ISO 11898). Flashing LEDs instantly reveal live data transmission on the CAN High (Pin 6) and CAN Low (Pin 14) lines.
PASS-THROUGH ARCHITECTURE
Concurrent Diagnostic Scanner Operation
Thanks to the integrated female OBD2 pass-through receptacle, you can plug in your scan tool (Launch, Autel, Thinktool, Bosch) while the breakout box is connected. Probe individual pins with an oscilloscope or multimeter while the scanner reads live ECU parameters without interrupting bus traffic.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Technical Specifications & Usage
Does this device support 24V commercial vehicles?
Yes. The device operates across a wide voltage range of 0–24V DC, making it suitable for both 12V passenger vehicles and 24V light commercial/heavy-duty systems with standard OBD2 ports.
Can I connect an oscilloscope or multimeter to the banana jacks?
Absolutely. All 16 pins are brought out to standard 4mm banana female test jacks, allowing secure connection for multimeters, logic probes, and digital oscilloscopes.
Are batteries or software drivers required?
No. The breakout box draws parasitic power directly from Pin 16 (Battery +) and Pin 4/5 (Ground) of the vehicle. It is completely plug-and-play with no software or drivers needed.
