What does it mean?
B1241 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Problem in the Blower Motor Circuit .
Symptoms
- No airflow from the vents at any speed, or airflow only at certain speeds
- The blower runs continuously or at full speed regardless of the setting
- Squealing, ticking, or rumbling noise from behind the glove box
- Burning or melted plastic smell coming from the vents
- Airflow drops off after the system has been running for a while
Likely causes
- Worn blower motor drawing excessive current because of failing brushes or dry bearings
- Failed blower resistor pack or blower power (final stage) module
- Blown blower fuse, or a burnt and discoloured blower connector, a common heat related failure
- Debris such as leaves or a collapsed cabin filter jamming the blower wheel
- Open or high resistance blower ground connection
- Missing speed control signal from the climate module, or a failed module output
How to fix it
- Check the blower fuse and relay first, then confirm the motor runs when it is supplied directly
- Inspect the blower connector for heat damage, melted plastic, and burnt terminals
- Measure the blower current draw; an excessive reading means the motor is worn and will destroy the new control module too
- Test the resistor pack or power module along with its ground connection
- Remove the blower and check for a jammed wheel, leaves, or a collapsed cabin filter
- Replace the failed component together with any damaged connector rather than one alone
- Clear the code and confirm smooth speed control through every setting
