What does it mean?

B1750 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Driver Seat Rear Down Switch Circuit Malfunction .

Symptoms

  • Rear of the cushion will not lower, or drops unevenly
  • Seat tilt adjustment is lost while slide, recline and front height still work
  • Movement stops before the seat reaches the desired position
  • Stored seat positions can no longer be recalled correctly
  • Code returns shortly after clearing, typically while the seat is being adjusted

Likely causes

  • Dirty, worn or intermittent rear-down contact in the switch pack
  • Liquid damage inside the switch leaving residue between the contacts
  • Rear-down signal wire chafed against the rail or broken where the loom flexes
  • Under-seat connector terminal corroded, loose or pushed out of its housing
  • Rear height motor binding or drawing abnormal current
  • Seat or memory module input stage failure

How to fix it

  1. Read the codes and monitor the rear-down input live while pressing the rocker
  2. Inspect and clean the switch pack contacts, looking for spill damage
  3. Try a known good switch pack if one is available before suspecting wiring
  4. Measure continuity and resistance of the rear-down wire between switch and module
  5. Move the seat through its full travel while wiggling the loom and watching for signal loss
  6. Check the rear height motor current draw and the freedom of the lift linkage
  7. Repair the wiring or replace the switch, motor or module according to the findings
