What does it mean?
B1755 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Driver Seat Assembly Forward Switch Circuit Malfunction .
Symptoms
- Seat will not slide forward, or moves only a short distance and stops
- Rearward travel and the height adjustments still work
- Grinding or straining noise from under the seat while forward travel is attempted
- Driver profile or memory recall fails because the slide axis never reaches its target
- Code sets again as soon as the seat is used after clearing
Likely causes
- Worn or contaminated forward contact inside the seat slide switch
- Drink spill or cleaning fluid inside the switch housing
- Forward signal wire chafed, crushed or broken where the loom follows the moving seat rail
- Corroded or backed-out terminal in the under-seat connector
- Slide motor binding on a dirty or dry rail, pulling the circuit out of range
- Object jammed in the rail so the seat cannot complete its travel
- Seat or memory module input stage failure
How to fix it
- Read the codes and watch the forward switch input live while operating the switch
- Look under the seat for coins, toys or debris jammed in the rail and clean and lubricate the rail
- Inspect and clean the switch pack contacts, or substitute a known good switch if available
- Measure continuity of the forward signal wire between switch, connector and module
- Wiggle the loom through the full range of seat travel while watching for dropouts
- Measure the slide motor current; a binding rail shows up as a high, rising draw
- Repair the harness or replace switch, slide motor or seat module as the tests dictate
