Can I keep driving?

Usually drivable, but get it diagnosed without delay.

First step

Confirm the electrical fault before replacing anything.

What does it mean?

B2211 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Rain Sensor Module Initialization Performance .

Symptoms

  • The low coolant warning lamp stays on continuously, or stays dark during the key on bulb check.
  • The lamp glows faintly even with the ignition switched off.
  • No warning appears when the coolant level actually drops, so overheating can happen unnoticed.
  • Other telltales driven by the same module flicker or stop working.
  • A fuse feeding the cluster or an accessory circuit blows repeatedly.
  • On vehicles using the rain sensor definition, automatic wipers do not activate in rain.

Likely causes

  • Chafed or pinched lamp control wire between the control module and the instrument cluster touching a circuit that carries battery voltage.
  • Water intrusion or corrosion inside the module or cluster connector bridging the lamp driver pin to an adjacent powered pin.
  • An aftermarket buzzer, extra indicator or accessory spliced into the warning lamp wire and feeding voltage back into the driver.
  • Bent, spread or pushed back terminal in the connector touching a neighbouring supply pin.
  • Coolant level sensor wiring shorted against a powered circuit in the same harness branch.
  • Failed low side driver inside the body or instrument control module.
  • On some vehicles this code number is assigned instead to rain sensor module initialization, where a badly bonded or contaminated sensor pad on the windshield sets it.

How to fix it

  1. Record the stored codes and freeze frame data, clear them, then see whether the fault returns with the key on.
  2. Inspect the module and cluster connectors for moisture, green corrosion, spread terminals and pushed back pins.
  3. With the lamp output commanded off, measure voltage on the control wire; battery voltage present while the driver is off confirms the short.
  4. Unplug the module and check the same pin from the harness side; voltage still present means the wiring is at fault, not the module.
  5. Trace the lamp circuit through the dash and kick panel for chafe points, pierced insulation and non factory splices, then repair or reroute.
  6. Remove any accessory tapped into the warning lamp wire and refit the correct bulb or lamp assembly.
  7. Test the coolant level sensor and its wiring, and only when the harness proves good replace or reprogram the control module.
