What does it mean?
B2301 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Wiper Mode Switch Input Circuit Low .
Symptoms
- The passenger seat does not respond to memory recall while manual adjustment still works.
- The seat travels to a different position each time or stops part way.
- Storing a new passenger memory position is rejected.
- Easy entry or walk in movement no longer works on that seat.
- Related memory functions fail together when they share the same module.
Likely causes
- Passenger seat position sensor reading outside its learned range after the seat was forced or the track jammed.
- Damaged wiring in the passenger seat loom at the point where it flexes with seat travel.
- Corroded or unlatched connector under the passenger seat, often after seat removal or a liquid spill.
- Memory positions never programmed for the passenger seat, or erased after a battery disconnection or module replacement.
- Voltage drop during recall because of a weak battery or poor module ground.
- Binding seat track, stripped drive gear or a motor that stalls before the target position.
- Memory module internal fault.
How to fix it
- Read the stored body codes and check whether other seat, mirror or column memory faults are present.
- Monitor the passenger seat position sensor live data while running the seat slowly through its full travel with the manual switch.
- Look for the signal dropping out, sticking or jumping, which pinpoints the failing sensor or the broken conductor.
- Inspect and flex the loom under the seat and the connector at the seat base, checking for stretched wires, chafing and corrosion.
- Confirm the module supply and ground stay stable while the seat motors run, and test the battery and charging system.
- Repair the wiring, free any obstruction in the track, then reprogram the memory positions to the vehicle procedure.
- Replace the position sensor, seat motor assembly or memory module only after the electrical checks are complete.
