Can I keep driving?

Usually drivable, but get it diagnosed without delay.

First step

Confirm the exact definition of this code for the vehicle in front of you and note any other door module codes stored with it

  • BBody
  • 2Manufacturer-specific
  • 3Body
  • 46Sequence number

What does it mean?

B2346 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Wiper Motor Low Speed Control Circuit Low .

Symptoms

  • Power mirrors do not respond at all, or only one axis still moves
  • Mirror switch backlighting is dead while the other door switch lights work normally
  • Memory mirror recall never runs when a stored seat position is selected
  • Mirror folding, where fitted, stops working
  • The code returns immediately after clearing, or comes and goes as the door is opened and closed

Likely causes

  • Broken or corroded conductor in the reference feed between the door module and the mirror switch
  • Loose, backed out or spread terminal in the mirror switch connector
  • Water intrusion and corrosion in the door harness connector inside the A-pillar rubber boot
  • Harness damage where the wiring flexes through the door to body boot each time the door is opened
  • Failed internal track or a cracked solder joint inside the mirror switch itself
  • Open reference output inside the driver door module or body control module
  • Accessory wiring spliced into the mirror circuit during a previous installation and later disturbed

How to fix it

  1. Confirm the exact definition of this code for the vehicle in front of you and note any other door module codes stored with it
  2. Inspect the mirror switch connector for pushed back pins, corrosion and moisture before unplugging anything
  3. With the switch unplugged and the ignition on, measure the reference voltage at the switch connector against a known good ground
  4. If the voltage is missing there, backprobe the same circuit at the module connector; voltage at the module but not at the switch confirms an open in the harness
  5. Flex the harness inside the door boot while watching the meter, a jumping reading points to a broken conductor inside the loom
  6. Repair or replace the damaged section and reseal the boot rather than simply taping the joint
  7. If the feed is absent at the module pin while the module has good power and ground, the module output is at fault
