What does it mean?
B2476 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Front Suspension Stroke Sensor Circuit Malfunction .
Symptoms
- The audio system is missing from the vehicle menus or the steering wheel audio controls do nothing
- Chimes normally routed through the radio speakers are silent
- The display shows no audio source or an audio unavailable message
- The fault appeared straight after a head unit was removed or replaced
- All other body electrical functions behave normally
Likely causes
- Radio removed, unplugged or replaced with an aftermarket unit that does not provide the present signal
- Open or shorted present wire between the radio connector and the module that reads it
- Pushed back or damaged terminal in the radio harness connector after the unit was removed
- Adapter harness for an aftermarket head unit that leaves the present pin unconnected
- Corrosion in the connector from a drink spilled into the centre console
- Module configuration that still expects a factory radio after an equipment change
- Faulty input inside the body control or cluster module
How to fix it
- Establish first whether the original radio is still fitted, because this code very often follows an aftermarket installation
- Check the radio present pin state in live data with the unit connected and again with it unplugged
- Inspect the radio connector for bent, spread or backed out terminals
- Test the present wire for continuity and for shorts to ground between the radio connector and the module that reads it
- Where an adapter harness is used, confirm the present pin is wired as the adapter instructions require
- Reconfigure the module to match the audio equipment actually fitted to the vehicle
- Replace the module only after the wiring, the radio and the configuration have all been verified
