What does it mean?
B2485 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Wireless Communication Antenna Circuit (Bluetooth) .
Symptoms
- The left side repeater stays illuminated or glows continuously
- The left indicator flashes at the wrong rate or the repeater flashes out of step with the other lamps
- The repeater stops working once the module protects the output
- A bulb failure warning for the left side despite a good bulb being fitted
- The fault appears after a wash or in persistent wet weather
Likely causes
- Repeater output wire shorted to a live circuit inside the front wing or mirror loom
- Water in the repeater lamp connector, a common problem where the lamp sits in the wing panel
- Aftermarket LED repeater or a mirror mounted repeater wired incorrectly
- Chafing where the loom passes through the wing panel grommet
- Corrosion bridging pins in the door mirror connector on vehicles with mirror mounted repeaters
- Loom trapped on refitting after wing or bumper removal
- Module output driver failed in the on state
How to fix it
- With the indicators off, check for voltage at the repeater output at the module connector
- Unplug the repeater lamp and repeat the check to separate the lamp assembly from the wiring
- Inspect the lamp and its connector for water, corrosion and a perished seal
- Examine the loom where it passes through the wing grommet and behind the wheel arch liner for chafe damage
- Remove any aftermarket LED repeaters and refit the original type for the test
- Repair the shorted wire, reseal the panel entry point and refit the lamp with a sound gasket
- Replace the module only after the harness and the lamp assembly have both been proven clear
