What does it mean?
B2535 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Right Turn Signal Lamp Short to Ground .
Symptoms
- All right side indicators fail together, front, rear and repeater
- Indicator fuse blows as soon as the signal or hazard lights are used
- Left side flashes normally, which points to a side-specific circuit fault
- Cluster shows a lamp failure warning or the right arrow does not illuminate
- Hazard lights only flash on the left
- Fault often first appears after rain, a car wash or a wet snowy drive
Likely causes
- Water or corrosion in any of the right side lamp sockets, front, rear or the mirror repeater
- Chafed indicator wire against a body bracket, wheel arch liner or bumper support
- Side repeater lamp in the wing or mirror filling with water and shorting
- Poorly insulated splice from a trailer harness or aftermarket lighting on the right side
- Deformed or overheated bulb socket with the contact touching the shell
- Harness crushed during body repair on the right side of the vehicle
- Shorted output driver in the module that controls the turn signals
How to fix it
- Check the indicator fuse and note whether it blows with each lamp on the right side unplugged one at a time
- Unplug the front, rear and repeater lamps in turn and measure each feed to ground to isolate the shorted branch
- Inspect every right side socket for water, green corrosion and heat distortion
- Pay particular attention to the side repeater, which is small, exposed and often overlooked
- Follow the right side harness through the wheel arch and body grommets, flexing it while monitoring resistance
- Disconnect trailer or accessory wiring and confirm whether the short disappears
- Repair the shorted section with a sealed splice, then clear the code and verify all three lamps flash together
