What does it mean?
B2562 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Power Sliding Door Switch Circuit Low .
Symptoms
- Power sliding door does not respond to the switch, the key remote or the pillar button
- Door starts to move on its own or opens without any command
- Door can only be moved by hand and feels heavy because the drive stays engaged
- Warning chime or a door-ajar message that will not clear
- System locks itself out and needs an ignition cycle before it tries again
- Interior lights or door-open indications behave inconsistently
Likely causes
- Switch signal wire shorted to ground where the door harness flexes with every open and close cycle
- Sliding door switch stuck in the pressed position from wear, dirt or a broken return spring
- Water leaking past the door vapour barrier into the switch or the B-pillar connector
- Corroded pins in the pillar or door jamb connector, especially on vehicles used in salted road conditions
- Wiring pinched inside the sliding door track or crushed by a trim panel after a repair
- Internal fault in the sliding door control module pulling the input low
- Aftermarket alarm or remote start wiring tapped into the door switch circuit
How to fix it
- Operate the switch while watching its live data in a scan tool to see whether the signal ever rises to its normal value
- Unplug the switch; if the input goes to normal voltage the switch itself is shorted internally
- Check the flexible harness that runs to the sliding door for cracked insulation, especially inside its convoluted sleeve
- Inspect the B-pillar and door jamb connectors for water, corrosion and green pins, and clean or repair them
- Measure resistance from the switch signal wire to ground with the switch and module disconnected
- Pull back the vapour barrier and look for water tracking down onto the connector or module
- Repair the shorted wire or replace the switch, then clear the code and cycle the door several times to verify
