What does it mean?
B2563 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Power Sliding Door Switch Circuit High .
Symptoms
- Sliding door does not power open or close from the switch
- Door works from one control but not another, for example the remote works and the pillar button does not
- Door is left in manual mode with the drive disengaged
- Repeated door-ajar or system fault message in the display
- Door movement stops part way and reverses without an obstruction present
- Code returns as soon as the door is operated after being cleared
Likely causes
- Broken wire in the flexible loom to the sliding door, a classic failure after years of door cycles
- Lost ground reference for the switch, leaving the input pulled up to supply voltage
- Corroded or backed-out terminal in the switch connector or the pillar connector
- Faulty switch with open contacts that never pull the signal low
- Signal wire shorted to a battery feed running alongside it in the same loom
- Water damage in the sliding door control module producing a false high reading
- Switch connector left unplugged after door panel or trim work
How to fix it
- Watch the switch signal in live data while pressing the switch and note that it never changes state
- Disconnect the switch and check for battery voltage on the signal wire, which would indicate a short to power
- Test the switch itself for continuity in both positions and replace it if the contacts are open
- Check the ground circuit for the switch, since a lost ground reads exactly like a permanently high signal
- Inspect the flexible door harness inside its sleeve for broken strands; flex it while measuring continuity
- Examine the pillar and door connectors for pushed-back pins, corrosion and water damage
- Repair the open circuit, reconnect everything, clear the code and cycle the door fully several times
