Missing Latch Signal During Power Sliding Door Unlatch

Jump to the fix

Severity

Medium

Can I keep driving?

Usually drivable, but get it diagnosed without delay.

First step

Read all module codes and check the battery and charging system before attempting anything else, since low voltage can cause both the fault and a failed repair attempt

What does it mean?

B2602 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Parking Sensor EEPROM Error .

Symptoms

  • Parking aid is disabled and gives no distance warnings at all
  • A single long tone or repeated fault beep when reverse is engaged
  • System fault message displayed each time the vehicle is started
  • Sensors cannot be calibrated or the calibration will not complete
  • Code comes back immediately after clearing, without any driving
  • Related rear sensing features that depend on the module also stop working

Likely causes

  • Corrupted memory content after a voltage drop or interruption during a programming or coding session
  • Jump starting, a flat battery or a battery disconnected while the ignition was on
  • Module fitted second hand or replaced without being configured to the vehicle
  • Poor ground or high resistance in the module supply causing unstable operation
  • Water damage inside the module affecting the memory circuit
  • Interference or a failed programming attempt leaving incomplete data in memory
  • Genuine internal memory failure in the module

How to fix it

  1. Read all module codes and check the battery and charging system before attempting anything else, since low voltage can cause both the fault and a failed repair attempt
  2. Connect a stable power supply to the vehicle and retry the module configuration or calibration procedure
  3. Verify the module part is correct for the vehicle and that it has been configured, not simply plugged in
  4. Measure supply voltage and ground quality at the module connector, including voltage drop while the system is active
  5. Inspect the module and its connector for moisture, corrosion and water tracks from the boot area
  6. Reprogram or update the module software if an update is available for it
  7. Replace and configure the module if the memory error persists with a proven supply, ground and wiring
