What does it mean?
U1430 is a Network (CAN bus, module communications) fault code. It indicates: Implausible Data Received From Comfort Seat And Wheel Module .
Symptoms
- Memory seat and mirror positions are not stored or not recalled
- Seat or steering wheel heating does not work, or switches itself off
- Seat adjusts by itself or stops mid-travel
- Warning message about comfort or memory functions on the display
- Other modules store communication codes at the same time
- Battery drain if the module never goes to sleep
Likely causes
- Faulty seat or steering wheel position or heating sensor sending out-of-range values
- Damaged under-seat harness, which flexes every time the seat is adjusted
- Connector unlatched or corroded after seat, carpet or steering wheel work
- Comfort module with a poor power supply or ground, resetting under load
- Water on the floor pan reaching the module or its connector
- Comfort module replaced without configuration, so its data does not match the vehicle
- Internal failure of the comfort seat and steering wheel module
How to fix it
- Read the comfort module data and check every seat and steering wheel value for plausibility
- Operate each switch while watching the corresponding live value change
- Move the seat through its full travel and inspect the harness for stretch and chafe damage
- Reseat and inspect the under-seat and steering column connectors, checking for corrosion
- Measure supply voltage and ground at the module under load
- Check for water on the floor and fix the leak before repairing the electrics
- Configure the module to the vehicle after any replacement
