What does it mean?
B1925 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Passenger-Side Air Bag Module (Inflator No.1) Circuit Short To Power Supply .
Symptoms
- Air bag warning lamp on from key on and stays lit
- Passenger air bag disabled and would not deploy in a collision
- Fault usually appears right after dash, glove box or audio installation work
- Passenger air bag status indicator may also behave abnormally
- Restraint system warning message on the information display
Likely causes
- Harness chafed behind the glove box or under the dash so a firing wire touches a powered circuit
- Water from a blocked air conditioning drain, a leaking windscreen or a heater matrix bridging pins in the air bag connector
- Connector damaged or forced during dash, glove box or audio work
- Aftermarket wiring routed with or spliced into the passenger restraint harness
- Passenger air bag module internal short to supply
- Terminal pushed out of the connector and touching a neighbouring powered terminal
- Restraint control module output stage failed shorted
How to fix it
- Follow the air bag safety procedure completely before touching the passenger air bag connector
- Read all codes with freeze frame and ask about recent interior work or water leaks
- Disconnect the passenger air bag and fit the approved test load, then recheck whether the fault follows the module or the harness
- With the air bag unplugged, check the firing circuit for voltage with the ignition on, which confirms a short to power
- Inspect the harness behind the glove box and along the dash for chafe points against brackets and sharp edges
- Remove any aftermarket wiring tied into the restraint loom and reroute the harness away from powered circuits
- Replace the restraint control module only after the wiring and air bag module have both been proven good
