What does it mean?
B1928 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Left Rear Window Control Circuit High .
Symptoms
- Left rear window runs on its own or only in one direction
- Window does not stop at the top or bottom of travel as expected
- Window fuse blows when the switch is used
- Rear window operation is disabled by the module as a protective measure
- Fault may appear right after an accessory or alarm installation
Likely causes
- Control wire shorted to a battery feed inside the door or behind the trim panel
- Water bridging pins in the door or motor connector after a membrane leak
- Aftermarket window closer, alarm or accessory wiring spliced into the window circuit
- Corroded terminals raising circuit resistance so the module measures an abnormal level
- Window switch failed with its contacts welded closed
- Motor winding open on the return path, letting the output float high
- Module output driver failed shorted to supply
How to fix it
- Check the fuse and system voltage, then read the module codes and freeze frame data
- Watch the output state in live data while operating the window from both switches, noting when the circuit goes high
- Disconnect the motor and check the control wire for voltage with the ignition on and the switch released; voltage present confirms a short to power
- Trace the harness inside the door and in the jamb boot, looking for chafing against a powered circuit
- Inspect the connectors for water, corrosion and terminals bridged by moisture
- Measure the motor windings to rule out an open return path
- Repair the wiring with proper terminals, then replace the module only when the circuit is proven clean
