What does it mean?
B2559 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Right Front Fog Lamp Short to Ground .
Symptoms
- Right fog lamp does not light while the left one may still work
- Fog lamp fuse blows as soon as the fog lamps are switched on
- Fog lamp indicator lights on the dash but no output at the bumper
- Both fog lamps shut off together when the module protects the circuit
- Problem appears after driving through standing water or deep snow
- Visible water inside the right fog lamp lens
Likely causes
- Water and road salt inside the right fog lamp housing or its connector
- Lens cracked by a stone strike, allowing spray straight onto the bulb terminals
- Feed wire chafed against the bumper reinforcement or a bracket edge behind the bumper cover
- Corroded pigtail with green, brittle terminals that eventually touch each other
- Shorted fog lamp bulb or a failed LED fog module on the right side
- Fog lamp harness torn by kerb contact, a low obstacle or an impact to the right corner
- Aftermarket fog lamp installation without correct fusing or insulation
How to fix it
- Inspect the right fog lamp for a cracked lens, water inside and impact damage from below
- Check the fuse and note whether it holds with the right fog lamp unplugged
- Measure resistance from the fog lamp feed to ground on the harness side to confirm the short
- Clean or replace corroded pigtail terminals rather than trying to save them with grease alone
- Follow the harness behind the bumper cover for chafe points and repair with sealed connections
- Replace the fog lamp assembly if water has damaged the reflector or the internal wiring
- Clear the code, switch the fog lamps on and confirm both sides operate with the fuse intact
