What does it mean?
P1300 is a Powertrain (engine, transmission, fuel system) fault code. It indicates: Ignition Coil 1 Primary Feedback Circuit Malfunction .
Symptoms
- MIL (check engine lamp) on, sometimes flashing under load
- Misfire on cylinder 1, rough idle and shaking at a standstill
- Hard starting, hesitation and clear power loss
- Raw fuel smell from the exhaust, higher fuel consumption and a risk of catalyst damage
- Intermittent cut-out while driving
Likely causes
- Failed primary winding or integrated igniter in coil 1
- Open, shorted or high-resistance feedback wire between coil 1 and the ignition module
- Corroded, loose or oil-filled coil connector in the plug well
- Missing or weak battery feed to the coil
- Poor coil or engine ground connection
- Damaged ignition control module or its driver stage
- Engine control module output fault, considered only after the circuit is proven
How to fix it
- Read the freeze frame and confirm with live misfire counters that cylinder 1 is affected
- Swap coil 1 with a known-good coil from another cylinder and see whether the fault follows the part
- Check for battery voltage and a clean ground at the coil connector with the key on
- Test the trigger and feedback wires for continuity and for shorts back to the module
- Inspect the plug well for oil and water, check the boot for carbon tracking and examine the spark plug
- Replace the coil or repair the harness fault, and evaluate the ignition control module only if the coil and wiring are good
- Clear the codes and confirm zero misfire counts on a road test
