What does it mean?
B1346 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: DAB Circuit Resistance Is High .
Symptoms
- Airbag warning lamp on continuously
- Driver airbag disabled, it may not deploy in a collision
- Horn, cruise control or steering wheel buttons may work intermittently, because they share the clockspring
- The code sets again after every clearing attempt
- No influence on how the engine runs
Likely causes
- High resistance inside the clockspring, which is where this fault normally originates
- Clockspring ribbon partially broken after many steering rotations
- Loose or dirty connector at the airbag module or under the steering column
- Corroded terminals in the driver airbag connector
- Wiring damaged during steering wheel, horn or steering wheel switch work
- Airbag module with a high-resistance inflator circuit
- Restraint control module connector only partly seated
How to fix it
- Disconnect the battery and wait the specified time before disconnecting the airbag
- Remove the driver airbag carefully and inspect its connector for corrosion, spread pins and a properly seated lock
- Use the correct airbag load tool or the manufacturer's procedure, never measure a live squib directly with a multimeter
- Check the clockspring connector under the column and confirm the clockspring is centred and undamaged
- Look for evidence of a previously miscentred clockspring, such as steering wheel controls dropping out at full lock
- Replace the clockspring when it is the source of the high resistance
- Replace the driver airbag module only after the clockspring and wiring are proven good, then clear codes and verify the lamp self-test
