What does it mean?
C1113 is a Chassis (ABS, traction control, steering) fault code. It indicates: G Sensor .
Symptoms
- Stability control and ABS warning lamps on, with a message that stability control is off
- Stability control intervening on a straight, level road for no reason
- Hill start assist and hill descent functions unavailable
- Live data shows lateral or longitudinal acceleration well away from zero while the vehicle is parked and level
- Braking feels normal but the electronic aids stay disabled
- Fault appears after work on the interior, seats or floor trim
Likely causes
- Sensor never calibrated after replacement, module renewal or suspension work
- Loose sensor mounting bolts or a sensor fitted in the wrong orientation
- Corroded or poorly seated sensor connector, often under a seat or the centre console
- Chafed sensor wiring or a broken conductor in the harness
- Supply or ground fault on the sensor circuit
- Internal sensor failure giving a fixed offset or a drifting signal
- Accident damage or an aftermarket suspension change altering the sensor mounting
How to fix it
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and read the G sensor values in live data, they should be near zero
- Confirm the sensor is bolted down tightly and mounted the right way round
- Inspect the connector for corrosion and make sure it is fully latched
- Check the sensor supply voltage and ground with a meter at the connector
- Trace the harness for chafing and damage, especially under carpet and seat rails
- Perform the sensor zero point calibration with the correct procedure
- Replace the sensor if the reading stays offset after calibration, then recalibrate and road test
