First step

Confirm which of the compared signals is actually wrong.

  • CChassis
  • 1Manufacturer-specific
  • 4Chassis / ABS
  • 43Sequence number

What does it mean?

C1443 is a Chassis (ABS, traction control, steering) fault code. It indicates: Invalid Data Received from Yaw Rate Sensor` .

Symptoms

  • Stability and traction control lamps on with the systems switched off
  • No stability intervention during a slide, or unexpected intervention on a straight road
  • Yaw rate value on live data disagrees with the direction of the turn
  • ABS may still function normally in a straight line
  • Fault often returns after a few turns rather than immediately

Likely causes

  • Yaw rate sensor internal drift, giving a value that no longer matches vehicle motion
  • Sensor never zeroed after replacement, accident repair or an alignment
  • Loose sensor mounting or a bent bracket changing its reference plane
  • Damaged network wiring or a poor connector causing corrupted messages
  • Supply voltage or ground fault at the sensor
  • Faulty steering angle or wheel speed input making the comparison fail even though the yaw sensor is good
  • Software or configuration mismatch after a module replacement

How to fix it

  1. Read yaw rate, steering angle and all four wheel speeds together during a slow turn in both directions
  2. Identify which of those signals does not follow the vehicle motion
  3. Check the sensor mounting, bracket and orientation
  4. Inspect the connector and wiring for corrosion, damage and loose pins
  5. Measure supply and ground at the sensor and check the bus lines
  6. Perform the zero point calibration after any suspension or alignment work
  7. Replace the sensor and recalibrate only once the other compared inputs are proven correct
