What does it mean?
C1505 is a Chassis (ABS, traction control, steering) fault code. It indicates: Tire Pressure Sensor 5 Internal .
Symptoms
- Tyre pressure warning lamp on even though all four road wheels read correctly
- The fifth position shows no data or a permanently old value
- System reports a missing or faulty sensor during a relearn
- Warning cannot be cleared by adjusting road wheel pressures
- No effect on ride or handling
Likely causes
- Internal battery flat in a spare wheel sensor that has spent years unused
- Sensor damaged or never refitted after the spare wheel was used or serviced
- Corroded valve stem in a spare tyre stored in a wet wheel well
- Sensor ID for the spare not registered after a wheel or sensor change
- Sensor sitting outside the receiver range in its stowed position
- Tyre sealant residue in the sensor port
- Wrong sensor type fitted to the spare wheel
How to fix it
- Read all registered sensor IDs and see which position gives no data
- Locate the spare wheel and trigger its sensor directly with a TPMS tool
- Check the spare tyre pressure with a gauge; a very flat spare can also stop reporting
- Inspect the spare wheel valve stem and sensor for corrosion and damage
- Confirm the registered ID matches the sensor now fitted to the spare
- Replace and program the sensor if it does not transmit, then run the relearn
- Verify all positions report before clearing the code
