What does it mean?
P1325 is a Powertrain (engine, transmission, fuel system) fault code. It indicates: Igniter No. 6 Circuit Malfunction .
Symptoms
- MIL (check engine lamp) on, flashing when the misfire is heavy
- Misfire on cylinder 6, rough idle and vibration at a standstill
- Hesitation and power loss when accelerating
- Hard starting or an intermittent no-start
- Fuel smell from the exhaust and worse fuel economy
Likely causes
- Failed igniter, or a coil-with-integrated-igniter assembly that has broken down on cylinder 6
- Open or shorted trigger wire to cylinder 6
- Confirmation (feedback) wire from the igniter open, shorted or with a corroded terminal
- Corroded or loose coil connector, or oil that has collected in the plug well
- Missing battery feed or a poor ground at the coil and igniter
- Worn spark plug with a large gap forcing excessive secondary voltage, which stresses the igniter
- Engine control module ignition driver fault, considered last
How to fix it
- Confirm with live misfire counters that cylinder 6 is the affected one, and read the freeze frame
- Swap the coil and igniter assembly with one from another cylinder and see whether the code follows the part
- With the key on, check for battery voltage and a clean ground at the coil connector
- Test the trigger and confirmation wires back to the module for continuity and shorts
- Inspect the plug well for oil and water, and check the spark plug gap and electrode condition
- Replace the igniter or the coil assembly once the circuit has been proven good
- Clear the code and confirm on a road test that no misfire counts accumulate
