What does it mean?
B1322 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Weight Classification System Sensor circuit fault .
Symptoms
- Airbag warning lamp lit and the passenger airbag status indicator behaving incorrectly
- Passenger airbag may be disabled even with an adult seated
- Passenger seat belt reminder does not work as expected
- Scan tool shows implausible or fixed occupant weight values
- Engine and driveability are completely unaffected
Likely causes
- Damaged weight sensor, load cell or sensor mat in the passenger seat cushion
- Wiring under the seat broken or pinched by the seat rails as the seat travels
- Connector under the seat unplugged, corroded or not latched after seat or trim work
- Objects wedged under the seat loading the sensor mounts
- Loose seat bolts or a distorted seat frame upsetting the load cells
- Occupant classification system not calibrated after a repair
- Occupant classification module internal fault
How to fix it
- Disconnect the battery and wait the specified time before disturbing any restraint connector
- Read the live occupant weight and classification data with the seat empty and then loaded
- Remove anything stored under the seat and clear the seat rails
- Inspect the under-seat harness and connectors for chafing, corrosion and released locks
- Confirm the seat is securely bolted down and the frame is undamaged
- Replace the weight sensor, bladder or sensor mat assembly when its output is out of range
- Carry out the occupant classification zeroing/calibration procedure and verify the status lamp responds correctly
