What does it mean?
B1362 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: DBPT Circuit Resistance Too Low .
Symptoms
- SRS lamp on and the driver pretensioner disabled
- Code returns instantly after clearing while the short is present
- Fault can appear after the carpet has been shampooed or after a spill in the driver footwell
- May be intermittent and follow seat position
- Nothing changes in how the vehicle drives
Likely causes
- Under-seat loom crushed between the seat rail and the floor, letting the pretensioner wires touch
- Drink spill or wet carpet reaching the under-seat restraint connector and bridging the pins
- Shorting bar in the connector still partly engaged because the lock was not pushed fully home
- Internal short inside the pretensioner igniter
- Wrong pretensioner or belt assembly fitted, with a lower squib resistance than the module expects
- Terminals spread or deformed after repeated unplugging of the seat connector
- Control module measuring circuit at fault
How to fix it
- Note whether the fault started after interior cleaning or seat work, which usually points straight at the connector
- Power down the restraint system safely and observe the discharge time before unplugging anything
- Open the under-seat connector and look for moisture, salt tracking and green terminals; dry and clean before further testing
- Check that the connector lock seats fully so the shorting bar releases as designed
- Follow the loom along the seat rail looking for a flattened or cut section
- Test with an approved load simulator to decide between the harness and the pretensioner unit
- Replace the pretensioner or belt assembly if the short is internal, then clear the code and confirm the lamp goes out
