What does it mean?

B1992 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Right Power Sliding Door Sensor Supply Circuit High .

Symptoms

  • Right power sliding door will not run under power at all
  • Group of sensor codes stored at the same time rather than one isolated fault
  • Door stops during a cycle and beeps
  • Manual operation still works normally
  • Fault stays present continuously when a solid short is involved

Likely causes

  • Reference wire chafed against a battery or motor feed in the door or track harness
  • Water inside a connector linking a power pin to the reference pin
  • Sensor damaged internally so its supply pin is pulled up
  • Terminal fitted into the wrong cavity after a repair, putting a feed on the reference
  • Repair splice or accessory wiring connected to the wrong circuit
  • Regulator fault inside the sliding door control module
  • High resistance module ground, which raises all voltages measured against it

How to fix it

  1. Measure the reference voltage at the module and at a door sensor connector and compare the readings
  2. Unplug the module and check whether voltage remains on the reference wire, which proves an external feed
  3. Split the harness at intermediate connectors to find the section where the feed touches the reference
  4. Check the module ground with a voltage drop test before condemning the module
  5. Disconnect each sensor in turn to see whether one of them is pulling the reference up
  6. Inspect the flexible track harness and the door jamb connector for chafe, water and mis inserted terminals
  7. Repair the wiring or replace the faulty sensor or module, then clear the codes and confirm the reference is correct during a full door cycle
