What does it mean?
B2202 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: AcuraLink Control Unit EEPROM Error .
Symptoms
- Traffic information does not appear on the navigation display
- Error message on the navigation or media screen
- Connected services and traffic based routing unavailable
- The code sets again immediately after clearing
- Other navigation features work normally, so only the traffic function is missing
- Head unit may be slow to start up
Likely causes
- Vehicle not equipped with the traffic information module while the head unit is configured as if it were
- Head unit region or equipment configuration incorrect after a replacement or a software update
- Communication line between the head unit and the module open, shorted or corroded
- Module connector loose or unplugged behind the trim
- Blown fuse, or missing power or ground at the module
- Module or its receiving antenna damaged or removed during a previous repair
- Corroded terminals from moisture in the boot or under the dash
- Module internal fault, including a memory error inside the telematics control unit on some applications
How to fix it
- Confirm the manufacturer definition, and check the vehicle build specification for this option
- If the module is genuinely not fitted, correct the head unit configuration rather than chasing wiring
- Locate the module and check its fuse, power supply and ground
- Inspect and reseat the module connector and look for corrosion
- Measure the communication line between the head unit and the module for continuity and for shorts
- Check for other codes stored in the head unit or telematics unit that point at a shared circuit
- Reconfigure or reprogram the head unit to match the fitted equipment
- Replace the module if it has good supplies and still does not respond, then verify traffic information appears and the code stays cleared
