What does it mean?
B2314 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Wiper ON/OFF Control Circuit High .
Symptoms
- The passenger mirror runs to one extreme and stops, or refuses to move at all in that axis.
- Memory recall no longer positions the passenger mirror correctly.
- The mirror may move by itself when the door is opened or when other door functions are used.
- Reverse tilt and memory storing are disabled for that mirror.
- Other door functions on the same connector behave erratically at the same time.
Likely causes
- Chafed wiring inside the door where the feedback wire has rubbed through against a permanently live circuit, often near the window regulator or the speaker frame.
- Water in the mirror housing or the door connector bridging the signal pin to the motor supply pin.
- Bent, spread or pushed back terminal in the mirror connector touching a powered contact.
- Internal short inside the potentiometer or the mirror actuator between the wiper track and the motor feed.
- Wiring damaged during door trim, glass or lock work and then trapped against a bracket.
- Aftermarket accessory wiring such as courtesy lamps or speakers spliced into the door loom.
- Door module internal fault on that input.
How to fix it
- Read the codes and check the mirror position value in live data; a reading pinned at maximum points to a short to power.
- Unplug the mirror connector and measure the feedback wire from the harness side with the key on; battery voltage present confirms the short is in the wiring.
- If the voltage disappears with the mirror unplugged, the short is inside the mirror actuator or its potentiometer.
- Inspect the door harness, especially near the window regulator, lock and speaker, for chafing, crushing and non factory splices.
- Check the mirror housing and connector for water, corrosion and damaged seals, and dry the connector before retesting.
- Repair the damaged wiring with sealed crimped joints and reroute the loom away from moving parts and sharp edges.
- Replace the mirror actuator when it is proven at fault, then reprogram the mirror memory positions.
