What does it mean?
B2315 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Wiper On/Off Control Circuit Open .
Symptoms
- The passenger mirror will not move in that axis, or drives only one way and buzzes at the stop.
- Memory recall skips the passenger mirror while the driver mirror still works.
- The position value in live data stays at the bottom of the scale regardless of mirror movement.
- Storing a new memory position for that mirror is rejected.
- The fault appears after water entered the mirror or after door panel work.
Likely causes
- Feedback wire chafed against the door inner panel, a bracket edge or the window regulator rail.
- Water in the mirror housing or the door connector creating a conductive path to the metal shell.
- Terminal pushed back inside the connector so it touches the housing or an adjacent ground pin.
- Internal short to the actuator body inside the mirror potentiometer.
- Loss of the five volt reference from the door module, which the module can also log as a grounded signal.
- Wiring crushed when the door trim, mirror or window regulator was refitted.
- Door module input stage failure.
How to fix it
- Check the horizontal position value in live data; a value stuck at or near zero while the mirror moves confirms the grounded signal.
- Measure the five volt reference at the mirror connector first, because a missing reference gives the same reading.
- With the mirror unplugged, measure resistance between the feedback wire and ground from the harness side; a very low value proves the short.
- If the harness is clean, measure the potentiometer resistance through its travel to find the internal short or a shorted track.
- Inspect the door loom in the boot and along the inner panel for chafing, crushing and trapped sections.
- Dry and reseal the mirror housing if water has entered, repair the damaged wiring with sealed joints and replace corroded terminals.
- Fit a new mirror actuator only when it is proven faulty, then relearn the mirror memory positions.
