What does it mean?
B2324 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Headlamp Washer Motor Control Circuit High .
Symptoms
- The driver mirror ends up in the wrong side to side position after memory recall.
- Mirror movement stutters or stalls at one point in its travel.
- Automatic tilt in reverse and mirror folding work inconsistently.
- Storing a new memory position works sometimes and fails other times.
- Manual adjustment still works, so the fault appears intermittent to the driver.
Likely causes
- Worn resistive track inside the potentiometer producing noisy or jumping values during the sweep.
- Corroded terminals in the mirror or door module connector adding resistance and shifting the signal.
- Partly broken conductor in the door boot harness that still conducts but no longer carries a stable signal.
- Mirror memory limits never programmed or lost after a battery disconnection, mirror replacement or module change.
- Mirror glass forced by hand or by a car wash, driving the potentiometer past its learned range.
- Binding or damaged actuator gearing so the mirror cannot reach the expected feedback value.
- Water in the mirror housing making the track intermittently conductive.
How to fix it
- Read the codes and check whether the other axis of the same mirror is also reported.
- Monitor the vertical feedback value while running the mirror slowly through its full side to side travel with the switch.
- Look for noise, jumps and flat spots in the trace, which show a worn potentiometer track rather than a wiring fault.
- Measure the reference voltage and sensor ground at the mirror connector, checking for voltage drop while the motors run.
- Wiggle the harness in the door boot during the sweep to reveal a partly broken conductor.
- Clean or replace corroded terminals, repair the wiring, and dry and reseal the mirror housing if water is found.
- Replace the mirror actuator when the potentiometer is proven faulty, then run the mirror memory relearn procedure.
