What does it mean?
B2328 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Washer Fluid Level Sensor Input Circuit High .
Symptoms
- The column will not extend or retract on memory recall, or stops in a different place each time.
- Easy entry and exit movement of the column no longer works.
- The column moves in steps or stalls at one point of its travel.
- Storing a new column memory position is rejected.
- Manual column adjustment may still work, which makes the fault look random.
Likely causes
- Worn resistive track in the reach position potentiometer, producing noise or dead spots as the column telescopes.
- Chafed or partly broken wiring in the column loom, which flexes every time the column moves or is adjusted.
- Corroded or loose terminals in the column module connector, often after a drink was spilled into the column area.
- Column reach travel limits never learned, or lost after a battery disconnection or module replacement.
- Binding telescope mechanism or damaged drive gears so the column never reaches the expected feedback value.
- Missing five volt reference or poor sensor ground from the column control module.
- Column module internal fault.
How to fix it
- Read the column and body module codes and check whether the tilt axis reports a fault as well.
- Monitor the reach position value in live data while running the column slowly through its full travel with the switch.
- Look for noise, jumps or a value that freezes, which separates a worn potentiometer from a wiring fault.
- Measure the five volt reference, signal and ground at the column module connector and check for voltage drop while the motor runs.
- Flex the column loom during the sweep, since the wiring is stressed every time the column is adjusted or the tilt is used.
- Repair damaged wiring and corroded terminals, then check the telescope mechanism moves freely without binding.
- Replace the potentiometer or column drive assembly only when it is proven faulty, then carry out the column memory relearn procedure.
