What does it mean?
P1294 is a Powertrain (engine, transmission, fuel system) fault code. It indicates: Injector Circuit Low to High Current Transition Time Bank 2 .
Symptoms
- MIL (check engine lamp) on
- Misfire and vibration felt mainly from one side of the engine
- Extended cranking before the engine fires
- Hesitation, flat spots and reduced power on acceleration
- Increased fuel consumption and, on diesels, visible smoke
Likely causes
- Corroded or high-resistance terminals in a Bank 2 injector connector
- Injector coil on Bank 2 outside its resistance or inductance specification
- Chafed or partially broken conductor in the Bank 2 injector harness
- Poor ground or a weak supply feed to the injector driver module
- Failed driver output for the Bank 2 group
- Contaminated connectors after an engine wash or a coolant leak
How to fix it
- Note the freeze frame conditions, then check which other injector or misfire codes are stored
- Visually inspect the Bank 2 injector connectors and harness, especially where they cross hot or moving parts
- Compare cold resistance readings of all Bank 2 injectors
- Voltage drop test the feed and ground for the Bank 2 injector group while cranking
- Check battery state of charge and charging output before condemning parts
- Swap a suspect injector with a known-good one from the other bank and see whether the code follows
- Repair the harness or replace the faulty injector, then verify with a road test that the code stays away
