What does it mean?
B1914 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Driver Window Control 2 Circuit Low .
Symptoms
- Driver window will not move in one direction, or does not move at all
- Auto up and auto down functions no longer work while manual operation may still function
- Window fuse blows, sometimes taking other door functions with it
- Motor makes a click or a buzz without moving the glass
- Glass drops slowly or stops partway and refuses to close
Likely causes
- Window motor control wire shorted to ground inside the door or in the door jamb boot
- Water running down inside the door onto the module or motor connector
- Seized window regulator or motor drawing very high current and overloading the output
- Chafed loom where it passes the regulator, the speaker or a sharp bracket edge
- Failed master switch shorting the control line internally
- Door control module output driver failed shorted
- Aftermarket alarm or window closer module spliced into the window circuit
How to fix it
- Check the window circuit fuse and battery voltage before doing anything else
- Read the module codes and watch the window output state in live data while commanding movement
- Disconnect the window motor and measure the control wire to ground with the module unplugged; a low reading confirms a shorted wire
- If the wiring is clean, check the motor for a shorted winding and the regulator for binding by operating it off the vehicle circuit
- Look for water tracking down a damaged door membrane onto the module and dry and reseal it
- Remove any aftermarket window closer or alarm wiring spliced into the circuit and retest
- Replace the door module last, and verify the manufacturer specific meaning of this code before ordering parts
