What does it mean?
B1918 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Passenger Window Control 2 Circuit Low .
Symptoms
- Passenger window does not move in one direction or does not move at all
- Auto up and down and anti pinch protection are lost
- Window fuse blows, sometimes disabling other door functions
- Motor clicks or hums without moving the glass
- Window works from one switch but not the other
Likely causes
- Control wire shorted to ground inside the passenger door or in the door jamb boot
- Water running down a torn door membrane onto the module or motor connector
- Window regulator binding or the motor seized, overloading the output driver
- Loom chafed against the regulator rail, speaker frame or a bracket edge
- Passenger window switch failed and shorting the control line
- Door module output driver failed shorted
- Damage after door speaker, mirror or aftermarket window closer installation
How to fix it
- Check the relevant fuse and system voltage before any further testing
- Read the module codes and watch the output state in live data while operating the window from both switches
- Disconnect the window motor and measure the control wire to ground with the module unplugged, since a low reading confirms the short is in the wiring
- If the wiring measures correctly, test the motor for a shorted winding and check the regulator for binding
- Look for a torn door membrane and water tracking onto the module, then dry and reseal it
- Remove aftermarket window closer or alarm wiring spliced into the circuit and retest
- Replace the door module last, and confirm the manufacturer specific definition of this code first
