What does it mean?
B2319 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Wiper Hi/Low Control Circuit Open .
Symptoms
- The passenger mirror will not move side to side, or drives only one way and strains at the end stop.
- Memory recall ignores that mirror while the other one still responds.
- The mirror position value in live data stays at the bottom of the scale no matter how the mirror is moved.
- Storing a new memory position for the mirror fails.
- The fault typically follows water entry into the mirror or door panel work.
Likely causes
- Feedback wire rubbed through against the door inner panel, a bracket or the window regulator rail.
- Water inside the mirror housing or the door connector giving the signal a path to the metal body.
- Terminal pushed back in the connector so it contacts the shell or an adjacent ground pin.
- Internal short between the potentiometer wiper track and the actuator body.
- Missing five volt reference from the door module, which produces the same near zero reading.
- Loom crushed when the door trim, mirror or speaker was refitted.
- Door module input stage failure.
How to fix it
- Check the vertical position value in live data; a value stuck at or close to zero while the mirror moves confirms a grounded signal.
- Measure the five volt reference at the mirror connector first, since a missing reference gives an identical reading.
- With the mirror unplugged, measure resistance between the feedback wire and ground on the harness side; a very low value proves the short.
- If the harness measures clean, check the potentiometer through its travel for a shorted or worn track.
- Inspect the door harness in the rubber boot and along the inner panel for chafing, crushing and trapped wiring.
- Dry and reseal the mirror housing where water has entered, then repair the wiring with sealed joints and replace corroded terminals.
- Replace the mirror actuator assembly only when it is proven faulty, then relearn the memory positions.
