What does it mean?
B1465 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Channel 2 Audio Speaker Output Circuit Performance .
Symptoms
- Sound from the channel 2 speaker is thin, distorted or rattling
- Level from that position rises and falls on its own, often as the door is moved
- Fader and balance no longer position the sound correctly
- The channel is muted for a while and then comes back by itself
- Code returns after clearing even though the speaker is not completely dead
Likely causes
- Speaker voice coil partly damaged, so the impedance has drifted outside the expected window
- Replacement speaker of the wrong impedance or sensitivity fitted on that channel
- High-resistance joint at a corroded speaker terminal or a poorly crimped repair
- Conductor breaking down inside the door jamb boot, giving a load that comes and goes
- Damp in the speaker basket or the connector after a torn door membrane
- Amplifier output stage for channel 2 losing performance
How to fix it
- Use a steady tone with the fader and balance to identify the affected speaker by ear
- Take the trim off and inspect the cone, surround, basket and terminals for damage, corrosion and moisture
- Measure the speaker's DC resistance at its own terminals and compare with the value for this system
- Repeat the measurement at the amplifier connector; a large difference means the fault is in the wiring between
- Flex the harness in the door jamb boot while watching the meter or listening for a dropout
- Connect a known-good speaker at the amplifier end to confirm whether the amplifier output is clean
- Repair the harness or fit a correct-specification speaker, clear the code and verify with a fader sweep
- Treat the amplifier as the last suspect, once speaker and wiring both test good
