What does it mean?
B1468 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Channel 2 Audio Speaker Output Circuit Open .
Symptoms
- Total silence from the channel 2 speaker while the rest of the system plays normally
- Fader and balance no longer move sound to that part of the cabin
- Sound may return for a moment when the door is opened or closed, if a broken strand touches
- The system sounds unbalanced and thin from the driver's seat
- Code is stored and comes back at every start
Likely causes
- Speaker connector left unplugged or only half seated after trim, seat or dash work
- Broken conductor in the flexible boot between the body and the door, the usual failure point
- Open voice coil in the speaker after long-term overdriving or corrosion
- Corroded spade terminal that has lost its grip on the speaker tab
- Terminal backed out of the amplifier or head unit connector
- Channel left unconnected after a non-standard audio installation
- Amplifier output stage failed open on that channel
How to fix it
- Use fader and balance to find the silent position
- Remove the trim and confirm the speaker connector is fully latched and the terminals grip the tabs firmly
- Measure the speaker directly at its terminals; an open reading means the voice coil has failed
- Check continuity of each output wire between the amplifier connector and the speaker connector to find a break
- Flex the door jamb boot while measuring, since this is where the wires normally break
- Inspect the amplifier connector for an unlocked or pushed-out terminal and reseat it correctly
- Repair the broken wire with a soldered or properly crimped joint and protect it inside the boot
- Replace the speaker if its coil is open, then clear the code and verify with a fader sweep
