What does it mean?
B1467 is a Body (airbags, seat belts, body electronics) fault code. It indicates: Channel 2 Audio Speaker Output Circuit High .
Symptoms
- No sound from the channel 2 speaker, or a loud hum, buzz or thump
- The amplifier shuts that channel down and keeps it off until the fault is repaired
- Door electrics fuses can blow when the contact is a solid short
- Problem usually starts right after stereo, speaker or door hardware work
- Code is set again every time the audio system is switched on
Likely causes
- Output wire chafed against a live circuit in the door, such as a window motor, lock or lamp feed
- Aftermarket head unit or accessory wiring where a power wire was joined to a speaker lead
- One of the two output wires open, leaving the line floating high
- Corroded or high-resistance terminal lifting the measured level
- Water bridging a speaker pin to a live pin in a shared connector
- Amplifier output transistor failed and holding the channel high
How to fix it
- Identify the channel's physical speaker with the fader and balance settings
- Disconnect the amplifier connector and the speaker, then check both output wires for voltage with the ignition on; there should be none at all
- Note whether that voltage is permanent or switched, which narrows down the circuit feeding it
- Remove door trim and look for melted insulation, chafe against a live wire and non-factory splices or connectors
- Check both wires end to end for continuity to rule out an open leg on the pair
- Remove any aftermarket taps, repair the damaged section and re-route it away from live wiring and moving glass
- Test with a known-good speaker at the amplifier before condemning the amplifier itself
- Clear the code, cycle the ignition and confirm the channel plays normally
